Liberation (Statue)

"Our servicemen fought, not to conquer... but rather to rescue and restore freedom to those persecuted and oppressed..." The "Liberation" Monument, sculpted by the Nathan Rapoport, commemorates the spirit, dedication and compassion of the American Serviceman as liberator of the oppressed of the Holocaust. The Allies, victorious over Nazi Germany and the liberation of Europe, proclaimed four basic freedoms as the right of all mankind: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from fear and freedom from want. The enlightened of the world continue to fight for these ideals. The Freedom Medal was issued in honor of the freedom fighters symbolized in the Liberation Monument. It was struck using a casting method.

Edge: State emblem with the words "STATE OF ISRAEL' in Hebrew on the right and in English on the left and serial number. Bronze/tombac medal - "BRONZE" in Hebrew and English; Silver medal - "STERLING 925" in Hebrew and English.
